  • 1 cup Shredded Gruyère Divided
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Divided, optional for extra cheesiness
  • Butter For greasing, cooking spray can also be used
  • 2 large Croissants Stale or toasted for better texture

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 450°F and grease baking pan with butter.
  • Cut croissants into quarters and layer evenly in the baking pan.
  • Cook bacon in a skillet until crispy, then crumble and sprinkle over croissant layers.
  • Whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, chives, thyme, salt, pepper, and cayenne until combined.
  • Fold half of the shredded Gruyère and mozzarella into the egg mixture and pour over croissants and bacon.
  • Allow casserole to sit for 15-30 minutes, then bake at 350°F for 45-55 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

For best results, reheat in the oven for a few minutes before serving.
