  • 1 cup cottage cheese opt for full-fat for a luscious texture
  • 1 cup fresh basil chopped, parsley can be used as an alternative
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme or 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 0.5 clove garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice preferably fresh
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil or avocado oil
  • to taste black pepper freshly ground is best

How to Make Basil Cottage Cheese Dip

  • Start by stripping the thyme leaves from their stems and roughly chopping the fresh basil. Mince the garlic.
  • In your blender, add the cottage cheese along with the prepared basil, thyme, minced garlic, lemon juice, and sprinkle of black pepper.
  • Blend all the ingredients on high speed for about 30-60 seconds until smooth.
  • If the dip seems too thick, add a tablespoon of water and blend again until desired consistency.
  • Transfer the dip to a bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and adjust seasoning if needed.
  • Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

This dip can be stored in an airtight container for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
