Ingredients
  

  • **Cupcakes:**
  • - 1 ⅓ cups all-purpose flour
  • - 1 cup granulated sugar
  • - ½ cup Dutch process cocoa powder
  • - ½ tsp baking soda
  • - ½ tsp salt
  • - 1 cup buttermilk
  • - ⅓ cup vegetable oil
  • - 1 large egg
  • - 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • **Frosting:**
  • - 2 ¾ cups powdered sugar
  • - ½ cup unsalted butter
  • - 2–3 tbsp heavy cream
  • - 1 tsp vanilla extract or orange zest + extract
  • - Pinch of salt
  • - Orange food coloring
  • **Decorations:**
  • - Oreos
  • - Green M&M’s
  • - Edible black marker
  • - Pretzel sticks
  • - Orange sprinkles or tinted frosting

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and line muffin pan.
  • Whisk dry ingredients.
  • Add wet ingredients and whisk until smooth.
  • Divide into liners, fill ⅔ full.
  • Bake 19–23 mins. Cool fully.
  • Beat frosting ingredients until fluffy. Tint orange.
  • Frost cupcakes and decorate as cats, bats, or pumpkins.

Notes

- Use extra Oreos in case of breakage
- Frosting can be spread or piped
- Decorations are optional but highly encouraged!
