  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour Substitute with gluten-free all-purpose flour for gluten-free option.
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder Ensure it's fresh.

  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter Softened at room temperature.

  • 1 large Egg At room temperature.
  • 3 tablespoons Milk Almond or oat milk for dairy-free option.

For the Frosting

  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese Softened for smoothness.
  • 4 cups Powdered Sugar Use cornstarch for a homemade version.
  • 1 pack Food Coloring (Pink and Red) For tinting frosting.
  • 1 cup Sprinkles Optional for decoration.

Instructions
 

Making the Cookies

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and kosher salt.
  • In a separate bowl, cream the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg, milk, and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients until a soft dough forms. Divide into two discs, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least one hour.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Roll out the chilled dough to about 1/4-inch thickness, use heart-shaped cutters, transfer to the baking sheets, and freeze for 10 minutes.
  • Bake cookies for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden. Cool completely on a wire rack.

Making the Frosting

  • Beat together softened cream cheese and butter until creamy. Gradually mix in powdered sugar until smooth, then add food coloring.
  • Frost the cooled cookies and decorate with sprinkles if desired.

Notes

Ensure butter, eggs, and milk are at room temperature for better dough consistency. Refrigerate dough for at least one hour to prevent spreading.
