Preparation

  • In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt until combined.
  • Dip each slice of day-old bread into the egg mixture for about 4 seconds on each side. Layer them in a baking dish, pouring any remaining custard over the bread.
