Ingredients
  

For the Filling

  • 6 cups fresh yellow peaches sliced and ripe
  • 1/4 cup sugar for peaches
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch optional

For the Topping

  • 1/2 cup salted butter melted
  • 3/4 cup sugar for topping
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

For the Finishing Touch

  • 2 tablespoons turbinado sugar optional
  • 1 quart whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and coat the bottom of a 9×13 pan with melted butter.
  • Add sliced peaches to the pan and sprinkle with 1/4 cup sugar. Mix well.
  • In a bowl, combine melted butter, 3/4 cup sugar, vanilla, flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir until thick.
  • Scoop the batter over the peaches, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake for about 30 minutes, or until bubbly around the edges.
  • Sprinkle turbinado sugar on top and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until golden.
  • Allow to cool for 20-30 minutes before serving.

Notes
