For the Mascarpone Mixture

  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar Adjust based on desired sweetness.

For the Coffee Layer

  • 1 cup Espresso Use freshly brewed and slightly cooled.
  • 2 tbsp Dark rum or liqueur Optional; Amaretto is a great choice.

For the Base

  • 24 pieces Savoiardi ladyfingers Use dry ones.

For the Finishing Touch

  • 2 tbsp Cocoa powder High-quality Dutch cocoa enhances flavor.

How to Make Tiramisu

  • In a bowl, blend the mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream and granulated sugar for about 5-8 minutes until soft peaks form.
  • Carefully fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until just combined.
  • In another bowl, mix the freshly brewed espresso with the dark rum or liqueur.
  • Dip half the ladyfingers quickly into the espresso mixture and arrange them in the bottom of a baking dish.
  • Spread half of the mascarpone cream mixture evenly over the ladyfingers.
  • Repeat the process with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone cream.
  • Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 8 hours, preferably overnight.
  • Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and slice to serve.

Notes

For extra elegance, garnish with chocolate shavings or fresh berries.
