Ingredients
  

For the Cake

  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour or cake flour for lighter texture
  • 1 tbsp Baking Powder ensure it's fresh
  • 1/4 tsp Kosher Salt or sea salt
  • 5 large Egg Yolks can use whole eggs for denser cake
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar or brown sugar for deeper flavor
  • 1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract no substitutes recommended
  • 5 large Egg Whites ensure no yolk

For the Milk Mixture

  • 1 cup Whole Milk or almond milk for lactose-free option
  • 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1 can Evaporated Milk coconut milk for dairy-free variation

For the Whipped Topping

  • 1 cup Heavy Cream or coconut cream for dairy-free
  • 2 tbsp Granulated Sugar adjust to preference
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon Sugar mix cinnamon with sugar

For Garnish

  • 1 cup Sliced Strawberries optional for decoration

Instructions
 

Directions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 13" x 9" baking pan.
  • Whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and kosher salt in a bowl until combined.
  • Beat the egg yolks and granulated sugar in a separate bowl until thick and pale, then add the vanilla extract.
  • Whip the egg whites in another bowl until soft peaks form, gradually adding sugar for stiff peaks.
  • Combine the yolk mixture with the dry ingredients and gently fold in the whipped egg whites.
  • Pour the batter into the pan and bake for about 30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Mix the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, whole milk, and additional vanilla extract in a bowl.
  • Poke holes in the cooled cake with a fork and pour the milk mixture evenly over it. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  • Beat the heavy cream with sugar until stiff peaks form, then spread over the chilled cake.
  • Dust with cinnamon sugar and garnish with sliced strawberries before serving.

Notes

For an extra pop of color, consider adding a few mint leaves as garnish.
