  • 1 box Boxed Cake Mix 15.25oz/425g
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter softened
  • 1/4 cup Canola or Vegetable Oil
  • 2 large Eggs room temperature
  • 1-2 drops Green Food Coloring gel preferred

For the Dusting and Decoration

  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Cornstarch
  • 1 cup Heart Shaped Sprinkles or Candy Melts

How to Make Grinch Cookies

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line cookie sheets with parchment or silicone mats.
  • In a medium bowl, mix the powdered sugar and cornstarch until well blended; set aside.
  • In another bowl, beat together the butter, oil, and eggs for 30 seconds until creamy.
  • Gradually add the boxed cake mix and stir until a thick green dough forms, adding food coloring as needed.
  • Scoop and roll the dough into balls, then coat in the powdered sugar-cornstarch mixture.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, rotating sheets halfway until puffed and not browned.
  • Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes and then transfer to a wire rack.
  • Mix powdered sugar and cornstarch with water for a glue to attach heart sprinkles.

Notes

Optional: Sprinkle additional powdered sugar on top before serving for a snowy delight.
