Ingredients
  

For the Meatloaf

  • 1 lb Ground Turkey Breast substitute with ground chicken or pork if desired
  • 1 lb Ground Beef opt for 95% lean for a lighter fare
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs Panko recommended
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce can be replaced with soy sauce
  • 1 medium Onion finely diced; substitutes: shallots or leeks
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced; omit for a milder taste
  • 2 Eggs room temperature; no substitute recommended
  • 1 tsp Salt adjust according to taste
  • 1 tsp Pepper adjust according to taste
  • 1 tsp Dried Thyme substitute with Italian seasoning if desired

For the Gravy

  • 2 cups Beef Broth or vegetable broth for a lighter option
  • 2 tbsp Light Butter neutral oil can be used as a substitute
  • 3 tbsp All-Purpose Flour gluten-free flour can also be used
  • 1 tbsp Beef Bouillon Base omit or use vegetable bouillon for a lighter touch
  • 1 tbsp Gravy Seasoning and Browning Sauce optional

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet, sauté the diced onion in olive oil for 3-5 minutes until tender. Add minced garlic and cook for another 30-60 seconds.
  • In a large bowl, combine eggs, ground turkey, ground beef, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, and the cooled onion and garlic mixture. Mix gently.
  • Transfer the mixture to a baking sheet and shape it into a loaf, about 2 inches thick.
  • Bake for 45-55 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  • While the meatloaf is baking, melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in flour to create a roux, then gradually add broth, stirring until thickened.
  • After baking, let the meatloaf rest for about 5 minutes before slicing. Serve each piece with gravy.

Notes

Garnish with fresh parsley for added color and flavor.
