  • 1 can Chickpeas opt for canned for convenience
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil can be swapped with avocado oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin coriander can be used as a substitute
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika feel free to use regular paprika if needed
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder omit for milder flavors
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder fresh garlic works too
  • 1 teaspoon Salt opt for sea salt for a different twist
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper optional if you prefer milder flavors
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes adjust according to your heat tolerance
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper reduce for milder chickpeas

How to Make Mouthwatering Spicy Roasted Chickpeas

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Drain your canned chickpeas and pat them dry with paper towels. Allow them to air dry for about 10-15 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, stir together the cumin, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, and cayenne.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the dried chickpeas with a drizzle of olive oil. Toss gently to coat.
  • Sprinkle the spice mix over the chickpeas, then toss again until uniformly coated.
  • Lay the chickpeas out in a single layer on a baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  • Place the baking sheet in the oven and roast for 30-35 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  • Let the chickpeas cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, drizzle with lemon juice before serving.
