Ingredients
  

For the Salmon

  • 1 pound salmon fillet cut into 2-3 fillets

For the Asparagus

  • 1 bunch asparagus trimmed

For the Cooking Fat

  • 1 tablespoon salted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

For the Flavor

  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 lemon lemon zest and juice
  • salt to taste
  • cracked black pepper to taste

Cooking Instructions

  • Heat a tablespoon of salted butter and a tablespoon of olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat until hot.
  • Add the salmon fillets and the trimmed asparagus to the pan. Season with salt and cracked black pepper, cooking for 3-4 minutes on one side.
  • Flip the salmon and asparagus carefully and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the salmon is opaque and flaky.
  • Stir in minced garlic and lemon zest, cooking for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Don't let the garlic burn.
  • Squeeze the juice of half a lemon over the dish, then turn off the heat and serve immediately.

Notes

Serve with a sprinkle of fresh parsley for an extra pop of color.
