Ingredients
  

For the Strawberry Base

  • 5 fresh strawberries hulled and finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cane sugar

For the Matcha Mixture

  • 0.5 to 1 teaspoon matcha powder high-quality
  • 0.25 cup cold water filtered

For Assembly

  • ice fill your glass generously
  • 0.5 to 1 cup almond milk or substitute with your favorite milk
  • maple syrup or honey optional, to taste

Preparation

  • Place the strawberries and cane sugar in a small bowl. Using a fork, gently mash the strawberries while mixing to extract their juices, then set the mixture aside.
  • Sift the matcha powder into another small bowl to eliminate lumps. Add the cold water, and using a matcha whisk, briskly whisk from side to side until the matcha is fully dissolved and you see a foamy layer on top.
  • In a tall glass, place the mashed strawberries at the bottom. Fill it halfway with ice, then pour in almond milk until the glass is two-thirds full.
  • Carefully pour the matcha mixture over the almond milk, creating a beautiful layered effect in your Strawberry Matcha Latte.
  • Use a straw to stir and mix the drink gently. Taste it and if you prefer a sweeter flavor, feel free to drizzle in some maple syrup or honey to your liking.

Notes

Optional: Garnish with a slice of strawberry on the rim for a lovely presentation. Always taste before serving, and sweeten with maple syrup or honey if desired.
