Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  • Trim excess fat from the brisket, rinse gently under cold water, pat dry, and place fat side up in a roasting pan.
  • Combine the spice mixture in a bowl and rub it evenly over the brisket.
  • Add 6 cups of water to the pan, cover tightly with aluminum foil, and roast for 2 hours.
  • Remove the foil and continue to roast for an additional hour until fork-tender and browned. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
