Cooking Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  • Toss the pattypan squash in a large bowl with olive oil, sea salt, black pepper, and any optional seasonings.
  • Arrange the squash on a baking sheet, cut side down, in a single layer.
  • Roast the pattypan squash for 15-20 minutes until tender and golden brown.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the seasoned pattypans to the skillet, cut side down, in a single layer.
  • Sear the squash for 3-5 minutes without moving them, until golden on the bottom. Flip and repeat.
  • Preheat your outdoor grill or stovetop grill pan for at least 10 minutes over medium-high heat.
  • Toss the pattypan squash again in a bowl with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  • Place the squash, cut side down, onto the grill in a single layer.
  • Grill for 3-4 minutes until grill marks form, then flip and grill for another 3-4 minutes.
  • Toss the squash again in a bowl with olive oil, salt, pepper, and any optional flavor boosters.
  • Place the pattypan squash in an air fryer basket, cut side down.
  • Air fry for 10-12 minutes at 400°F (204°C) until crispy and beautifully golden.

Notes
