Instructions

How to Make Soup Dumpling Bake

  • Chop the cabbage, carrot, and green onions until finely minced. This mix is the perfect crunchy base for your layered bake. Set it aside to let those flavors mingle!
  • Combine ground meat and seasonings in a bowl. Add soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly distributed and flavorful.
  • Mix in the chopped vegetables with the meat until fully combined. This step ensures you have a lovely filling bursting with flavor in every layer of your dumpling bake.
  • Dip one wrapper in water, then place it at the base of each baking dish. This creates a tender foundation for your layers, ensuring they hold everything together beautifully.
  • Spread a thin layer of the meat mixture over the wrappers. Use just enough to cover without overstuffing—this keeps the layers manageable yet satisfying.
  • Layer another wrapper, dipped in water, on top of the meat. This creates a seal that will trap all those delicious juices within.
  • Repeat the meat and wrapper layering process two more times, ending with a final wrapper on top. You’ll have a total of four layers of wrappers and three layers of meat.
  • Pour about 3 tablespoons of water into each dish. This moisture is essential for steaming, so be careful to press the edges if any water pools on top.
  • Steam the dumpling bake. Place the dishes in a steamer basket over boiling water, cover with a lid, and let them steam for about 20 minutes, or until the meat is thoroughly cooked.
  • Cool the finished dumpling lasagna slightly before serving. Top with your favorite garnishes, and prepare for all the oohs and aahs!
