  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour Gluten-free flour optional.
  • 1 tsp Kosher Salt Adjust according to taste.
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder Fresh minced garlic can be substituted.
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper Adjust to your desired spice level.
  • 2 large Eggs Aquafaba can be used for a vegan version.
  • 1 cup Panko Bread Crumbs Regular breadcrumbs are an option.

For Frying and Serving

  • 2 cups Vegetable Oil Can substitute with canola oil.
  • 1/2 cup Buffalo Sauce Adjust for a hotter kick.
  • 1 cup Ranch Dressing Blue cheese can be used as an alternative.

How to Make Fried Buffalo Artichoke Hearts

  • Drain and pat the artichoke hearts dry to remove excess moisture.
  • In one bowl, mix flour with kosher salt, garlic powder, and black pepper. In another bowl, beat the eggs with 2 tablespoons of Buffalo sauce. Place panko in a third bowl.
  • Dip each artichoke heart in the flour mixture, then in the egg mixture, and finally in the panko breadcrumbs.
  • Heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
  • Carefully add the coated artichokes into the hot oil and fry for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  • Toss the fried artichokes with remaining Buffalo sauce just before serving.

Notes

For an extra pop of color and flavor, garnish with chopped green onions.
