Ingredients
  

For the Halibut

  • 2 fillets Halibut fresh or thawed frozen
  • 1 tsp Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper to taste

For the Creamy Topping

  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise preferably Hellmann's
  • 1/4 cup Sun-Dried Tomatoes chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Oregano fresh preferred
  • 1/4 tsp Red Pepper Flakes adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp Lemon Zest preferably fresh
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Basil chopped for garnish

Preparation Steps

  • In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, sun-dried tomatoes, minced garlic, oregano, red pepper flakes, and lemon zest. Mix well and let it sit for about 10 minutes to meld the flavors.
  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the halibut fillets skin-side down.
  • Generously season the halibut with salt and black pepper on all sides.
  • Evenly spread the mayo mixture over the halibut fillets, covering them completely.
  • Place the prepared halibut in the oven and bake for 15-17 minutes, until opaque and flakes easily.
  • After baking, sprinkle freshly chopped basil on top before serving.

Notes

Serve with a wedge of lemon on the side for an extra zesty kick. Use other herbs like parsley for variation.
