Ingredients

For the Cookie Dough

  • 1.5 cups butter softened for easy mixing and a rich flavor
  • 1 cups white sugar adds sweetness and creates a lovely crisp texture
  • 1 cups packed brown sugar contributes moisture and a hint of caramel flavor
  • 2 units eggs room temperature to ensure smooth blending and fluffiness
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla enhances flavor, giving your cookies that delightful aroma
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour provides structure to our red white and blue cookies recipe
  • 4 teaspoons cornstarch helps achieve a soft, chewy texture and prevents spreading
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda acts as a leavening agent for a perfectly puffy cookie
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt balances sweetness and enriches overall flavor

For the Mix-ins

  • 1.5 cups white chocolate chips creamy bursts of sweetness in every bite
  • 0.75 cups dried raspberries add a tangy zing that complements the sweetness
  • 0.75 cups dried blueberries provide a juicy texture and a sweet note

Instructions

How to Make Red White and Blue Cookies

  • In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and both sugars together until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and kosher salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the butter mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  • Fold in the white chocolate chips, dried raspberries, and dried blueberries.
  • Using a cookie scoop or your hands, form the dough into balls about one inch in diameter. Chill these balls in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the chilled cookie dough balls on the sheet and bake for 8-11 minutes.
  • Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes. Transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Chill dough for at least 2 hours to prevent spreading. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
