  • 1 pound Ground Beef Chuck (15-20% fat)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder

For the Buns

  • 4 pieces Hamburger Buns

For the Toppings

  • 4 slices American Cheese
  • 1 cup Shaved Lettuce
  • 1 medium Tomato sliced
  • 4 slices Dill Pickles
  • 1 small Shaved Red Onion
  • 1 tablespoon Ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Mustard

Preparation

  • Start by shredding the lettuce, slicing the tomato and red onion thinly, and getting the cheese and buns ready for assembly.
  • Gently divide the ground chuck into 8 equal mounds.
  • Preheat your griddle to medium-high heat.
  • Place the open hamburger buns on the griddle for about 1 minute, until they are lightly toasted.
  • Place the beef mounds on the hot griddle, then press down firmly with a spatula until they’re thin and about the size of the buns.
  • After 2 minutes, check that the patties release easily before flipping them over.
  • Top each patty with a slice of cheese and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  • Stack two crispy patties on each toasted bun, and layer on your choice of toppings.
