  • 3 cloves fresh garlic minced or chopped

How to Make Tomahawk Steak

  • Remove the tomahawk steak from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 1 hour.
  • Preheat your grill to 225 degrees F.
  • Pat the steak dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with kosher salt.
  • Place the seasoned steak on the preheated grill and insert a meat probe. Cook until the internal temperature reaches 115 - 120 degrees F, about 45 to 55 minutes.
  • Remove the steak from the grill and tent it with aluminum foil to rest for about 10 minutes.
  • Increase the grill temperature to about 450 degrees F.
  • Sear the steak on all sides for about 1 minute each.
  • Once seared, transfer the steak to a cutting board.
  • Warm the butter in a small pan on the grill until it bubbles, then add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Carve the steak into slices and drizzle the garlic butter over the top.

Notes

For best results, allow the steak to rest before serving to enhance juiciness.
