Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Dough

  • 1 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour Substitute with gluten-free flour for gluten-free option.
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter Use vegan butter for dairy-free alternative.
  • 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar Granulated sugar can be used but will yield a different texture.
  • 1 large Egg Yolk Can substitute with a flax egg for vegan option.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract Use pure extract for best results.
  • 1/4 cup Cornstarch No substitutions required.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt Can be omitted for low-sodium diets.

For the Ganache

  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips Dark or milk chocolate can be used.
  • 1/2 cup Heavy Cream For a lighter version, use half-and-half.

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, salt, and cornstarch until well combined.
  • Beat the softened unsalted butter in a larger bowl until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until fully combined. Then, add the egg yolk and vanilla extract, mixing until just incorporated. Slowly beat in the dry ingredients until a dough forms.
  • Roll the dough into 12 balls and flatten each one into discs. Using your finger, gently press the center of each disc to create a heart shape.
  • Refrigerate your shaped cookies for about 20 minutes, or freeze for 10 minutes.
  • While the cookies chill, heat the heavy cream in the microwave until hot. Pour it over the semi-sweet chocolate chips in a bowl, letting it sit for a minute. Stir until smooth.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the chilled cookies about 1.5 inches apart. Spoon the cooled ganache into the heart-shaped impressions and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  • Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool completely on the baking sheet before serving.
  • Optional: Drizzle extra ganache on top for a decorative touch!
