Ingredients

For the Meatloaf

  • 2 lbs Lean Ground Beef Choose 90/10 or 85/15 blend for moisture; 80/20 is acceptable if drained after cooking.
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper Adds warmth and seasoning; no substitutions recommended but adjust to taste if preferred.
  • 1 tsp Allspice Provides a warm, aromatic flavor; use ground allspice or whole, crush before using for fresh flavor.
  • 1 tbsp All-Purpose Seasoning Enhances overall taste; substitute with your favorite seasoning blend if desired.
  • 3 cloves Minced Garlic Freshly minced preferred for potency; avoid pre-minced or jarred garlic for best flavor.
  • 1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs Binds the meatloaf while adding texture; substitute with regular breadcrumbs if panko is unavailable.
  • 1 tsp Paprika Adds a subtle smokiness; can be replaced with smoked paprika for extra flavor or omitted.
  • 1 medium Onion Provides moisture and sweetness; diced into 1/4-inch pieces.
  • 2 tbsp Jerk Seasoning Gives the dish its Caribbean flair; freshly ground is preferred for a stronger flavor.
  • 1 tsp Oregano Enhances the flavor profile; use dried for convenience.
  • 2 tbsp Honey Offers sweetness, balancing the spices; maple syrup or agave can be used as substitutes.

For the Glaze

  • 1 cup Ketchup Forms part of the glaze, contributing sweetness; use a good quality brand.
  • 1/2 cup Barbecue Sauce Provides a savory, smoky element; high-quality sauces work best.
