Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). Lightly butter your baking dish.
  • Combine all the topping ingredients except butter in a large bowl.
  • Cut the butter into ½ inch cubes and mix with other topping ingredients until clumps form.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the filling ingredients until mixed.
  • Slice the nectarines into wedges and toss them in the filling mix.
  • Whisk together lemon juice and cornstarch to form a slurry and coat the nectarines.
  • Pour the filling into the baking dish, cover with half of the chilled topping.
  • Reduce oven temperature to 350°F (177°C) and bake for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes, sprinkle on the remaining topping and bake for another 30 minutes.
  • Let the crisp cool for 15 minutes before serving.
